About E-Board

All E-Board Members:

Requirements:

  • Available for all e-board meetings (7:15pm-8:15pm on Tuesdays)
  • Available to attend all general meetings (Wednesdays 7:00pm-8:00pm in 102 WVG)

Responsibilities:

  • Help contribute ideas to weekly meeting programming, event planning and assist with fashion show planning (including leading committees).
  • Build strong relationships with general members
  • Communicate with other e-board members effectively and considerately
  • Always be on top of the group status, make sure the group is upholding its mission statement and keep the group moving forward
  • Come up with new ideas to improve the club, be proactive in sharing ideas at e-board meetings, etc.

Presidents

Sarah Tahami  tahami.s@husky.neu.edu

Kaan Dönmez – donmez.k@husky.neu.edu

  • Act as the external faces of Fashion & Retail Society
  • Plan and lead e-board meetings, create agendas
  • Lead general meetings
  • Reside as Events Coordinators and oversee the spring fashion show
  • Assign and oversee the rest of e-boards’ responsibilities, helping and prioritizing them as well
  • Keep up to date with the statuses of all the activities of the organization
  • Process all official documents (online submissions and physical paperwork) with NU and outside vendors for venue scheduling, event planning, budgeting, etc.
  • Build a strong relationship with the e-board, i.e. planning bonding events
    • Resolve any internal issues within e-board, if necessary
  • Maintain relations with program and faculty advisors
  • Be proactive in making positive relationships with Northeastern University and other student groups
  • Attend monthly Creative Visual Arts Council meetings
  • Oversee the Editorial group, s/he should attend editorial meetings at least once a month, assist the Editor-in-Chief with any projects, etc
  • Have a clear understanding of the group’s mission statement to ensure all events and projects align with this purpose and uphold the organization’s image and reputation
  • Supervise the group so that it abides by Northeastern Conduct

 Vice President

Danny McGorry – mcgorry.d@husky.neu.edu

  • Assist with the president’s duties
  • Work alongside the president as Assistant Events Coordinator and monitor the progress and success of the spring fashion show
  • Send out weekly emails for meeting operations to the graphic designers and marketing team
  • Serve as the Scheduler for the group
  • Attend monthly Creative Visual Arts Council meetings
  • Oversee the Marketing team, s/he will be responsible for monitoring a continued presence of social media and other marketing channels
  • Maintain positive relationships with past and present speakers, create thank you notes for all speakers or contributors to the spring show
  • Oversee the semester-ly recap newsletters created by the assistant graphic designer

Editor-in-Chief

Shelby Robin – robin.s@husky.neu.edu

  • Maintain the club’s website, http://www.northeasternfashion.com
  • Work as Co-Editor of The Avenue
  • Come up with content each week for the blog on topics in the fashion and beauty industry
  • Edit and post materials onto blog to make sure all content is well written and relevant to trends and fashion industry events
  • Assign stories to writers and maintain deadlines
  • Lead and attend weekly editorial meetings
  • Learn and become familiar with WordPress and Issu, the sites that host the website and The Avenue Magazine

Deputy Editor

Treasurer

Meredith Fisher – fisher.mer@husky.neu.edu

  • Attend all mandatory SABO workshops
  • Responsible for completing the budget proposal for the spring show on time
    • Gathering all quotes, filling out necessary paperwork, working with program manager and outside vendors
  • Be knowledgeable of rules and regulations for anything to do with funding, bookkeeping with Northeastern, SABO (Student Activities Business Office), etc.
  • Place all orders for the spring show and ensure they are contracted and paid
  • Plan two fundraisers per semester to ensure the organization has funds to utilize
  • Process all paperwork for reimbursements (get faculty advisor signatures)
  • Complete spending reports
  • Monitor the budget and cash accounts and ensure all transactions needed by e-board members for activities are placed
  • Select, train, and assign weekly tasks and teach the assistant treasurer all necessary processes

Secretary

Jessica Weiss – weiss.j@husky.neu.edu

  • Manage and maintain the membership of the organization
  • Create and send out the weekly newsletter to all general members as well as the model newsletter
  • Monitor the group email and respond to all non-speaker inquiries
  • At e-board meetings, create actions for each member to keep on track of their tasks
    • If tasks are not completed, remind e-board members of their duties on a weekly basis
  • Act as an unofficial note keeper of the organization by keeping records and maintaining the organization of the group

Marketing Director

Caroline O’Brien – obrien.car@husky.neu.edu

  • Plan and monitor weekly posts on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) through HootSuite
  • Interact and create relationships with club members at weekly meetings and events
  • Help create weekly Facebook events for meetings
  • Develop new ideas and outreach strategies to promote general member interaction
  • Select, train, assign weekly tasks and teach the marketing associate all necessary processes

 Marketing Associate

Catherine Mooney – mooney.ca@husky.neu.edu

  • Work alongside the marketing director to plan and monitor weekly posts on social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) through HootSuite
