Collection of Style: Grand Opening

By: Liza Pereguda

On October 23, 2015 “Collection of Style” opened its fifth United States store in Boston. COS is now replacing American Apparel on 138 Newbury Street.

COS is owned by the Swedish H&M Group that landed its first store in London in 2007. Since then, COS has expanded and is making people all over the world fall in love with its simple and fresh clothing design.

What is so appealing in COS? Its minimalistic approach. The majority of styles are laconic — in a good way. It means that if you want to get a timeless sweater that will always be trendy, COS is the right shopping location. COS designs are truly seasonless. Although prices are higher than H&M, the quality is way better. COS is a store for well dressed adults, so you won’t find pink sparkling dresses or any pieces with “teenage” philosophical quotes on them. COS is great for purchasing an outfit for a job interview and for getting basic clothes for your closet. Just by touching the cloth of the apparel, one will understand that the piece will last forever and won’t ever lose its magnificent condition.

The store on Newbury consists of two floors with both men’s and women’s apparel. When one enters the store, one has a feeling that nothing distracts them from what they are looking for. The clothes are well-organized and are waiting for the customers to try them on.

All in all, the opening of another European-based shopping store is a great opportunity for Bostonian street stylers and fashionistas to explore and add some essential good-quality basics to their closets. Go check it out!
