This first look was for a day of shopping on Newbury Street. I went for a casual outfit that embraced my favorite two colors this fall, dark plum and mustard. Since I wore colored pants from American Eagle, I decided to keep the rest of the look pretty neutral and just added a pop of color with this bobble hat I got at Primark. I layered a denim jacket over my sweater to add some warmth and texture. I wore my Kate Spade purse that is the perfect every-day bag because it goes with everything and is a great size.
This look would be perfect for going out to brunch or going on a casual date in autumn. I just had a day of classes, but I find dresses to be a great option when you are looking for something comfortable but still cute to wear! I went for a mostly black and white color pallet, wearing a salt and pepper colored sweater dress I got at my local thrift store with some knitted tights. I added some edge to the feminine dress with my burgundy leather jacket from Forever 21 and my trusty Dr. Martens. I like the layering of different textures happening in this look. I went for my favorite hairstyle of a half up topknot.
This last look is my take on jeans and a t-shirt. I love pairing two patterns together, so I layered a men’s flannel from Urban Outfitters over a stripped shirt. One way to not go over board when pairing patterns is to keep to one color scheme. It can also help to have one smaller pattern and one bigger pattern, so they don’t compete too much with each other. I love these jeans because of they have unique pocket details on the front and they are the perfect length, which is difficult for me to find because I am quite short. To amp up this casual look a little more, I added a long layered necklace from Madewell and my metallic silver and black bag by Rebecca Minkoff. I usually wear this bag for a night out, but it can also work for the daytime with the right outfit.
