My Style in Three Words: Minimal, Sporty, Clean

Day 1 – The Last Day of Summer: Taking advantage of the official last day of summer, I roamed around Boylston sporting my favorite shorts of the season. These light denim shorts have dolphin slits on each side and subtle white pin stripes, creating an effortlessly clean look. Naturally, I paired it with a basic black t-shirt to complete a minimalist look with an added sporty twist. Since I can’t seem to leave the house without one Adidas item on, I chose to sport my Adizero cap and all-white Superstars.

Day 2 – The White Button Up: On this perfect transition season day, I decided to go for a laid back look featuring a long-line button up top, my favorite cropped black jeans and my all-white Adidas Superstars. This look was easy, comfortable and each item was affordable on a college budget (highly important). It took me a while to find a great way to wear this button up, but it just needed a very simple pairing with dark denim and it was mission accomplished.

Day 3 – The Striped Shorts: For this look, I was finally able to wear my favorite H&M top with high-side slits. I paired this interesting top with a pair of striped denim shorts that I scored at Joe Fresh a while back. Thanks to the great summer weather, this look went off without a hitch. After a quick shopping trip, I was able find my signature summer sunnies from Zara (which were conveniently on sale) and the look was complete.

Each of my looks stem from the idea that the combination of minimalism and sporty chic can and should be attempted by anyone who lives in basics and sneakers as much as I do. Don’t be afraid to mix it up a bit and go for the simple/laid-back aesthetic. You may just end up with a closet full of blacks, whites, and greys and a shoe rack stocked with timeless fashion kicks!
