My Style in Three Words: Black, Casual, Current

With winter, midterms and exhaustion setting in, the temptations of wearing just leggings and a t-shirt are even harder to withstand. But like they say, when you look good you feel good and setting aside a little extra time during your morning routine can put your whole day on track. I base my style off of current trends and popular bloggers like, Stassi Schroeder and Something Navy’s creator Arielle Nachmani. Although my dream is to one-day accumulate a closet like theirs, my tight college girl budget requires me to resort to other options. I find that Zara, H&M and Marshalls can help create a polished, more expensive look, for less.

Day 1: Since I was heading to class on a below freezing day, I sought out warmth and comfort over anything else. I wore my favorite sweater in my closet, a beige cashmere wrap by Cynthia Rowley. Underneath I styled it with a Burberry t-shirt, jeans from ASOS, and black Taupage biker boots also from Marshalls.

Day 2: For my second look, I was off to work and wanted to have an outfit that could be easily transitioned into edgy evening wear. I wore the “Flared Marl Poplin Shirt” from Zara, a statement necklace from Francesca’s, tarnished black pants from Zara and Steve Madden pony hair sneakers. My favorite part about sporting this outfit is the tarnished pants; they look and wear like leather for a much cheaper price.

Day 3: For my final look, I was off to a birthday dinner party in the city. In addition to wearing my parka, I wore an Ann Taylor asymmetrical jacket with leather sleeves over a Brandy Melville tunic dress, with tights of course! To polish off my outfit I wore Enzo Angiolini riding boots. I managed to pull off a sleek dinner look, keeping in mind the bitter temperatures.
