guessThis past Thursday, Gigi Hadid was given the “Model of the Year” title at the Daily Front Row Fashion Awards in Los Angeles. This girl is no stranger to success – Gigi began her modeling career being just 2 years old when she was discovered by the co- founder of Guess, Paul Marciano. As a child, she was cast in several campaigns for Baby Guess, but due to her love for competitive horseback riding and going for the Olympic qualifier for volleyball, she took a break from modeling. Towards the end of her high school education, Gigi realized that she wanted to model again. She signed a contract with IMG being just 17. Just like Tyra Banks, Kate Moss and Gisele Bündchen, IMG helped Gigi’s career to rapidly take off. Within a year, Gigi has become the face of several campaigns for Guess, Maybelline, Tom Ford and Australian swimwear brand Seafolly.modeloftheyear

On top of being a rising star in the modeling industry, Gigi is also excelling in her personal life. She has been seen with various A-listers; among the bunch are Kendall Jenner, Selena Gomez and her long-term Australian pop star boyfriend, Cody Simpson.

At only 19, Gigi seems to be unstoppable, making extreme waves in her career just as her supermodel mother, Yolanda Foster, once did herself. In the next few months we are guaranteed to see Gigi in many popular brand campaigns as she works towards becoming a household name. As of right now, Gigi Hadid is the “it” girl of the moment and there are no signs of that changing anytime soon.
