Last Monday, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Awards brought together an eclectic group of editors, designers, models, actresses and actors. While only one could receive the top prize and honor, Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of Vogue, spoke about how truly difficult the decision was to make. “If we could’ve, we’d have given an award to each and every one of you this morning.” While there was only one winner, there were many winners of the “Best Dressed” category. Let’s take a look at some of our favorites!
The always-cool Stella McCartney, who was also the keynote speaker, looked sleek and sporty in one of her own cobalt blue dresses, which she accessorized with platforms and an oversized clutch. Remaining true to her minimalist approach, McCartney kept the makeup, hair and jewelry low key, which didn’t keep her from landing on the best dressed list.
Another guest who won at the style game was it-girl Alexa Chung. Chung wore a navy Stella McCartney midi dress with a slouchy, pink fur clutch. Her midi dress was complete with black slits, making for an extremely modern and sleek look overall. Following McCartney’s lead, Chung’s makeup and hair were simple. It didn’t surprise us to see her land on the list as well.
Lily Aldridge may not have been at the awards as a Victoria’s Secret Angel, but that didn’t stop her from looking ethereal and angelic in her pale, salmon-colored Juan Carlos Obando dress. Complete with a deep V-cut and a leg slit, Aldridge’s tan skin and dark brown hair stood out against the gown. Bravo!
Karlie Kloss undoubtedly looked sleek and modelesque in Jason Wu; her spaghetti-strapped white midi dress paired with her 1,000-watt smile and newly blonde locks made for a very chic look. Kloss’ lack of jewelry and simple black clutch and heels added a polished finish. Plus, how could you not find her to be charmingly beautiful no matter what she wears?
Last, but not least, another favorite look of ours was Eve Hewson in Prabal Gurung. Hewson rocked a long, metallic-finished black skirt with a pearl-colored crop top. It played to the crop top trend that has been sweeping the fashion world lately. Her deeply side-parted hair was pulled back in a bun, and her makeup was slightly more gothic and sultry than other attendees’. Hewson’s dark plum lips completed the look, much to our approval.
