Beauty Emergency Kit: Rainy Day

By Amanda Slomovitz

Your hair and makeup are done and all that is left to do is pick an outfit for the day. Maybe you will finally wear your new suede booties that go perfectly with the gorgeous jacket you got for your birthday.   Your open your weather app to make sure you are dressed appropriately when your worst nightmare is realized: Rain. You quickly throw on your rain boots and grab your umbrella. Even though your outfit has been saved, you can’t help but think about your makeup’s impending doom: runny mascara, fading foundation and the wind blowing your hair into your freshly applied lip gloss. Before you panic, throw these beauty products into your bag and you’ll never fear the rain again.

Waterproof Mascara:

This is self explanatory, but a good waterproof mascara is essential on a rainy day, especially if you know you will be walking around outside. It is helpful to have one in your bag especially if you find yourself needing to fix your makeup once you make it indoors.

Translucent Powder:

Your foundation is not going to be picture perfect after heading out in a storm, but once you reach your destination and dry off a little, a translucent powder can help make your skin matte again.

Cheek/Lip Stain:

A two-in-one product is perfect for throwing in your bag and for touching up your makeup fast. After de-sticking your hair from your now nonexistent lip gloss and applying more powder, swipe a little bit of the stain on your cheeks and lips and you’re all set.
