On the year of Barbie’s 55th birthday, Mattel Inc. partnered with Karl Lagerfeld to launch a Barbie in his honor. The Barbie doll was designed by Robert Best and is dressed in Lagerfeld’s signature style. The doll has a white high-collared men’s shirt with French cuffs and satin cravat, topped with a tailored black jacket, paired with fitted black jeans and black ankle boots. The accessories include Lagerfeld’s iconic black fingerless gloves, black sunglasses and a black purse that resembles a Chanel bag.

The Karl Lagerfeld Barbie Doll was launched on September 29th in one day. Only 999 units were made and were then sold at $200 per doll by Net-a-Porter. Now, these limited edition dolls can only be found for resale on eBay for at least four times the original price. If you are a collector or a fashion enthusiast, this Barbie doll is a must-have!
