Haute off the press!
Karl Lagerfeld, who is currently managing numerous collections for Chanel, Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld, published his first newspaper last week. The Karl Daily is an entertaining, light read and provides a well-deserved break from daily, hard-hitting news.
The Karl Daily includes various articles about Lagerfeld and his latest projects. Features include a tour of Lagerfeld’s studio, store openings, a day in Lagerfeld’s life, a promotion of his latest accessories and numerous features about his cat, Choupette, including her own advice column. Other pieces include fashion horoscopes, the Krossword, Parisian hotspots and a faux weather forecast featuring fashion picks for any weather.
There is also an article on Lagerfeld’s latest muse: a Barbie styled to look like a mini-Karl.
There is even a fill-in-the-blank comic called “Le Petite Chou Chou,” featuring Lagerfeld and his cat.
Don’t miss the story featuring Lagerfeld’s signature fingerless gloves with a boxing twist as Lagerfeld becomes the world’s heavyweight champion, knocking out his opponent with his famous critique: “Sweatpants are a sign of defeat, you’ve lost control of your life, so you go out in sweatpants.”
You’ll also find a humorous “Personals” section. One listing reads, “Book Lover: Well-read lady seeks educated gentleman to recite poetry with and drink their weight in red wine. A passion for cheese a plus.”
Oh, and the special guest editor for the first edition of the Karl Daily?
Oh, for a day in the life of a Lagerfeld! The Karl Daily can be accessed here.
