Peter Philips was chosen to replace Pat McGrath as the new creative director of Christian Dior cosmetics. Dior announced the new assignment via Twitter saying “Dior is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Peter Philips as Creative and Image Director of #Dior #Makeup.”
It seems that Philips was equally excited, saying “I am honored by the responsibilities that are entrusted to me by Christian Dior makeup, whose values, savoir-faire and innovation I respect.”
Philips stepped down as Global Creative Director of Cosmetics for Chanel in February 2013. Through his years at Chanel, he gained cosmetic industry acclaim for his avant-garde cosmetic lines and the artistry of his looks for the brand’s runway shows.
We are so excited to see what lies ahead for Philips, and for the future of Dior cosmetics. Though he was M.I.A at Paris Fashion Week, he is rumored to be gearing up for a big career move. We’ll be keeping an eye out for him!
