On a lazy spring break day of March 7 in a relaxing atmosphere in Curry Student Center, one room wasn’t quite so quiet. Fashion show rehearsals were taking place in the spacious Curry Ballroom with disco mixes banging so loudly people could hear them everywhere. Models in heels with makeup and styled hair were going in and out of the room, making everyone wonder about what was going on.
Fashion & Retail Society’s fourth annual fashion show, Sidewalk to Catwalk, was going on. The show featured a variety of looks from the sidewalk, or everyday casual outfits, to catwalk, meaning gorgeous evening looks. Treated to snacks and delicious Georgetown Cupcakes, people were coming to watch models show off different brands, including Club Monaco and local emerging Boston designers. The show started off with a casual shirt-shorts combo and was closed with a beautiful flowing purple dress.
All in all, those who were on campus over break and were interested in being a part of Northeastern’s big fashion community had the perfect opportunity to feel like VIP with front or second row seats and enjoy the fabulous atmosphere of the show.
