With a galore of fashion shows every season in cities all around the world, it can be hard to keep track of all the trends and remember the highlights of every show! Sidewalk to Catwalk, the Fashion & Retail Society’s 4th annual fashion show, will showcase the transition of street style clothing to glamorous attire and is quickly approaching this week on March 7, 2014. We’re excited to show all our amazing looks this year, but let’s take a look back at our fabulous show last year, Silence & Noise!

To those who aren’t familiar with last year’s show, Silence & Noise was inspired by simple, minimalistic clothes as well as bold, loud statement pieces. Like this year, Silence & Noise incorporated a theme of contrast to be able to show a variety of styles.

Our “silent” looks included monochrome dresses with a twist, such as lace detailing or an asymmetrical sheer sleeve for our ladies and fitted shirts and dress pants for the men. Our “noise” looks included the likes of Minnie Mouse print dresses with a bedazzled top, hot or tricolored bow bandeau with safari shorts for women and fun tank tops with heavily studded motorcycle jackets for the men. Our models walked down the runway in clothes by Us Trendy, L.O.R., Jack Wills and more. We loved both types of looks, but if you want to check it out for yourself, you can find videos of the entire show as well as all photographs taken during the show right here on our blog.

This year, the Fashion & Retail Society is following Silence & Noise with Sidewalk to Catwalk. We are excited to present the show and hope you will join us on March 7 at 7 p.m. in the Curry Student Center Ballroom. Tickets are free and up on myNEU, so be sure to get yours now!
