Every season, Fashionista.com creates a cover war in which major designer houses fight to earn the coveted title of most featured designer on magazine covers. This past biannual cover war consisted of major designer contenders, from Dolce and Gabbana with 102 covers to Louis Vuitton with 84. However, it was Gucci that earned the top spot with 111 appearances.
Gucci’s fall 2013 runway show featured eye-catching, feather dresses, my personal favorite, which may have led the brand to its winning spot this year. Many of the cover war winners tend to be top designer houses that have the financial resources to push their products and spend money on advertising, giving them advantages over smaller houses. Either way, congrats to Gucci as the designer with the most covers this past season!
