The 40th annual People’s Choice Awards, an awards show voted on by the general public, kicked off the first of red carpet events in 2014. The show was full of laughs, thanks to hosts Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs — who both made our best dressed list! — and the fashion seen on the red carpet is definitely a promising start for the new year. Here are our favorite looks:
5. Allison Williams in David Koma
The “Girls” star stood out in an electric blue David Koma frock with white accents that showed off those beautiful shoulders and slim waist.
4. Nina Dobrev in Jenny Packham
The always-fierce “Vampire Diaries” star slipped into a long-sleeve Jenny Packham body-con dress. The one-sided silver jewels are unexpected and truly make the dress unique. I love that she went with an updo and let the dress shine on its own!
3. Kat Dennings in Black Halo Eve
The “2 Broke Girls” star and co-host of the show flaunted her voluminous curves in a black, off-the-shoulder Black Halo Eve gown. The silver belt shows off her tiny waist, and I adore the way she completed the look with red lips and old Hollywood waves.
2. Jennifer Hudson in KaufmanFranco
The recipient of the favorite humanitarian award was beaming in a white KaufmanFranco frock that showed off her fit figure. Hudson’s perfectly styled pixie cut accentuates her flawless bone structure while those bright pink lips bring the look all together.
1. Beth Behrs in Giulietta, Kate Spade New York, Dilek Hanif & Naeem Khan
The co-host completely shut it down on the red carpet and during the show. The blonde beauty started out the night in an elegant black and white Giulietta gown that she accented with a bold coral lip. For her second look, Behrs showed off those mile-long legs in a girly Kate Spade New York mini. She completed the look with my favorite hairstyle – beachy waves in a half up, half down style. The “2 Broke Girls” star channeled the roaring twenties for her most dramatic look of the night: a gold hand-beaded Dilek Hanif mini paired with strapped sandals. To end the evening, she donned a white lacy Naeem Khan number styled with a bouncy ponytail that showed off her playful side.
