Every year, the Hollywood Foreign Press honors the achievements of those in television and film. This year, the reputedly “loose” kick-off to the awards season brought out the best in television and film, with a surprisingly great red carpet on the Golden Globes. There weren’t many misses on the carpet; however, here are our picks for the best of the best!
Michelle Dockery in Oscar de la Renta
The Downton Abbey star looked like a true English rose in a simple, sparkly, nude Oscar de la Renta ball gown and Bulgari jewelry.
Lupita Nyong’o in Ralph Lauren
The Supporting Actress nominee and newcomer made an entrance in a simply stunning red off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown and cape, topped off with Fred Leighton jewelry.
Julianna Margulies in Andrew Gn
The always fashionable The Good Wife star got it right again in an elegant black Andrew Gn gown with gold accents.
Amy Adams in Valentino
The Best Actress winner paid homage to her movie American Hustle in a low cut burgundy and red Valentino gown and Brian Atwood heels. She arrived to the red carpet in a cape of the same color tones, and I wish she had kept it on. Nevertheless, she looked absolutely gorgeous.
Margot Robbie in Gucci
The Wolf of Wall Street star wowed in a low cut white Gucci dress with emerald and silver accents, vintage Van Cleef jewelry, and green Christian Louboutin heels.
Emma Watson in Dior Couture
The sartorial star took a chance in an open-back Dior Couture dress and pants ensemble and blue suede Roger Vivier heels, and, as always, it paid off.
Olivia Wilde in Gucci
The pregnant Her star looked smoking hot in a liquid, shimmery, green Gucci gown and Emm Kuo accessories. With her baby bump and all, I think she just may be my favorite of the night.
Matthew McConaughey in Dolce & Gabbana
The Best Actor winner cemented his role as an emerging fashionisto in a dapper Dolce & Gabbana tux with a green velvet jacket. Alright, alright, alright.
Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive
The Best Actress winner stunned in a black lace Armani Prive gown with sheer accents, Chopard jewelry and Jimmy Choo heels. Three words: that back though.
