This past Wednesday, I had the chance to see Conrad Lamour debut his swimwear collection at the Bijou nightclub. Normally, a night out at Bijou means stiletto heels and a short dress, but things were changed up a bit with a casual dress code for the fashion show. The doors opened at 7:30 p.m., and though I arrived a little late, the show hadn’t started yet. Once inside I was impressed at how Bijou was transformed from a dance floor into a runway. Hostesses greeted us with champagne and hors d’oeuvres as we waited for the show to begin.
At 9 p.m. the show started with Monique Jones Taylor, the MC, introducing herself. The show definitely commenced with a bang as a belly dancer came on the runway and began to dance. She moved along with the rhythm of the music and everyone was absolutely delighted with her performance.
Once the belly dancer was finished showing of her skills, the first designer’s collection was debuted. The collection consisted mostly of red dresses of varying lengths. The following designer’s clothes were bright, sequined dresses – I can honestly say that I would wear each one. Finally came swimwear consisting of gorgeous models of different body types wearing bikinis ranging from purple to bright yellow.
Conrad’s Lamour’s fashion show was rich and vibrant, emphasized by the different pieces showcased by each designer with the belly dancer as an added bonus!
