Jonathan Simkhai Event at W Hotel Boston

With co-op and sky high flight prices keeping Sarah and I in Boston for spring break, it was fair to say we were both yearning for a fun Friday night. Luckily, this came to us in the form of a Jonathan Simkhai (CFDA Fashion Incubator Designer) event at the W Lounge at W Boston in partnership with Louis Boston. We headed over to the swanky lounge around 6:30PM and were definitely blown away. The high ceilings, ambient lighting, and cool yet relaxing music set the tone for the evening. Not only were we treated to fun cocktails to toast the designer’s collection but we also received Louis Boston swag bags with Bliss Spa products that you can be sure we’ll use in the near future.

At around 7:30PM, the lighting changed, the music turned up, and models began to descend the large staircase next to the lounge. As each look came down, the models posed and began to strut around the venue, weaving in and out between the tables and onlookers. Each model finally took her place on various stands around the lounge where they remained so that audience members could come up and better admire the details, patterns, and textures. Since this was his Spring/Summer 2013 line, there were plenty of florals, tropical prints, and relaxed silhouettes but there were also some leather pieces mixed in. It seemed like the perfect collection for that laid back cool girl who also has a bit of an edge.

What do you think of the collection? View Sarah’s photos from the event below and share your thoughts in the comments below!
