Even amongst a crazy blizzard, New York Fashion Week continued on and Rebecca Minkoff’s Friday runway show went on as planned. One thing I love about Minkoff’s shows are that she usually includes some kind of live music and this time around she did that in the form of Nashville duo Wild Cub. The band’s upbeat vibe perfectly complemented the collection that seemed almost effortlessly cool.
The colors stayed true of a Fall/Winter palette – greys, blacks, neutrals – but there were definitely pops of unexpected color. Some of my favorite looks included color blocked cardigans, bright patterned pants, and puff sleeve dresses towards the end. The collection also included a few heavy coats with surprising twists like leather trims, fun patterns, and furry collars.
