From the sexy ’60s to geometrical patterns, the trends from the S/S collections are definitely fun. Instead of being dominated by orange like last year, this year is much sexier and fancier! Here are our top 5 trends for this spring and summer!
1. Sheen Queen
(Viktor & Rolf, Dior, Alexis Mabille)
This sheen fabric can do the trick! From the day office to fabulous night-out, this fabric is iridescent and changes color in various types of light.
2. Sexy Hippy ’60s
(Prada, Moschino, Holly Fulton)
Flower Power! These sexy looks definitely have a retro vibe. Prada, Moschino, and Holly Fulton used appliqués and Broderie Anglaise to make the flowers have a lovely but mature style.
3. Pencils At The Ready
( Erdem, Erdem, Roland Mouret )
In general, this is the most lady-like style. It’s demure, sexy, and sophisticated all at the same time. The pencil skirt can change its style very easily by incorporating patterns, textures, and subtle details. As seen through the pictures, Erdem uses flower patterns to have more mature feel but the Roland Mouret piece amps it up with vivid color.
4. Fluorescent Fashion
(Oscar de le Renta, Simone Rocha, Burberry Prorsum )
Minimalism and neon are the best combination in on the current fashion scene. In order to pull off this look, neon styles need to be balanced out by minimal and simple designs. For example, a neon skirt or pants with a sheer top could create a chic, delicate, and fun look.
5. Get Graphic
(Mary Katrantzou, Marc Jacobs, Dries Van Noten )
Graphic is our favorite trend this season! No additional accessories needed. Be brave to try hundreds of different graphics: trompe l’oeil, leopard, stripe, etc. Just make sure your graphics help you shine through instead of drowning you in print.
