There’s just so much to love about Marchesa’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, so I’ll jump right into things. First of all, I like the fact that the collection featured a rainbow of colors rather than concentrating on a few colors. Some collections focused on black and white or a particular scheme of colors, but Marchesa fully utilized all the colors of spring. Secondly, I liked that Marchesa took on a global theme with their collection.
The runway featured pieces that strongly fit in with an Indian or East Asian styles. The cropped tops with full skirts are practically saris, the embellished tunics with pants are like a style adopted in India, and the elaborate draping in some of Marchesa’s dresses are characteristic of East Asian fashion where that kind of clothing is more comfortable in hot temperatures. In spite of these differences, Marchesa maintains its elegant and sophisticated look in all their pieces. One of my personal favorites is the navy blue gown with a cream brocade bust.
Marchesa really hit the mark in their Spring/Summer 2013 collection so go to Style.com to check out all the looks!
