Looking Back on this Haute Year

With finals over and students taking off for the summer, we here at Haute would like to reflect on what a great year this has been. The school year of 2011-12 marks a year of firsts for us that we were so happy to share with you!

In addition to our Twitter and Facebook page, we launched this website in the beginning of the school year, unsure of what to expect in terms of response. Thanks to you–our readers, writers, and members–we can declare this blog a success!  With sections like our Fashion Week reviews and Haute Husky, and our event recaps and style articles, we have generated new, exciting content and will continue into next year and beyond.

This year, we held our first Northeastern’s Next Top Model competition. After a series of photoshoots and challenges, we declared two winners, Daniel and Sophia! Check out NNTM photos here. We also started a fashion segment, FashioNUble, which we plan to continue producing next year.

As a group, we attended local events such as Fashion’s Night Out and Boston Fashion Week, and collaborated with Madewell on a shopping event for our members. We’ve also hosted our own events this year.

Both of our panels, the Boston Fashion Blogger Panel and Fashion Co-op Panel, were successful; the panelists were well-informed and engaging, and loved speaking with our members. We were also fortunate to host Jay Calderin, the founder of Boston Fashion Week, as the first in our Haute Speaker series!

Going forward, look out for new sections on this website featuring the style of members, more Haute Huskies, speakers, and events. Be sure to follow our new Pinterest and keep an eye out for the next post about our summer plans!
