Haute Husky – Alannah O.

By Sarah Darrow

Spring has arrived. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at the quads and you will students instead of grass. Even though the cheerful season has come a bit earlier than usual, no one is complaining. One student taking advantage of this weather caught my eye with an adorable black and white elephant print dress from Anthropologie.

Name: Alannah O’Hagan

Major: Theatre

Year: Junior

Hometown: Wethersfield, CT

How would you describe your everyday style?

I would describe my everyday style as erratic.  I have a wide variety of styles within my closet.  I really like to wear jeans and a nice t-shirt paired with cool shoes or jewelry which I guess I would call a laid back style.  Or, on the other end of the spectrum, I go with a really girly style; I love dresses that have a lot of movement and a nice shape.

What stores do you shop at the most?

I like Forever 21 and H&M because they’re in my price range, so I shop there pretty often.  Other than than I mostly like to shop at thrift stores, I love getting something kind of interesting even if it’s just a t-shirt with a cool graphic on it.  I also love shopping in my mom’s closet and jewelry box for accessories, she has some great stuff from when she was in high school and college, and we’re about the same size so that’s pretty awesome.

What is your favorite thing to wear in the spring?

My favorite things to wear in spring are sundresses.  I hate winter weather so I jump at the chance to wear the least wintery clothing possible.  I also love getting to wear dresses because I think it’s easy to look totally put together in a dress with way less thought than you’d have to put in for a shorts/pants and top combo.

Normally, I associate spring with bright colors, but this black and white combo still had a radiating effect. I also loved the way she balanced out the sweetness of the dress with a leather jacket. So, with winter behind us, what spring favorites will you pull out of your closet?
