By Brooke Kamenoff
Inspired by William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s A Soul Brought to Heaven (a painting that shows angels bringing a girl to heaven), the Marchesa collection was truly breathtaking. Of course, it was not necessarily the most practical of collection as many of the dresses featured large amounts of tulle, embroideries, and even feathers. My favorite detail, however, was the skeleton tulle bodysuit worn under several of the frocks. This simple add-on combined with the ephemeral effect of many of the dresses brought everything back to the inspiration for the collection.
