Five-Second Fashion

By Jamie Ducharme

Despite being a self-professed fashion junkie, I’d be lying if I said there are never mornings when I seriously consider going to class in what I slept in the night before. I’m the first to admit that when you’re running on five or six hours of sleep, the last thing you want to do is put together an elaborate outfit—but that doesn’t mean you have to go to class looking like a bum. Here are five outfits so effortless you’ll kiss your sweatpants goodbye for good.

1. Oversized sweater + leggings + scarf = effortless style

As opposed as I am to leggings as pants, I love this look. The loose fit and longer length of the sweater offset the skin-tight leggings, and the scarf pulls the whole ensemble together while still keeping you warm and cozy.

2. Jeans + camp shirt + boots = preppy chic

Button-downs are possibly the easiest way to look pulled together without having to think about it, and choosing a light, breezy style like this won’t leave you feeling constricted.

3. Midi skirt + crop top + ballet flats = bohemian ease

If you’re afraid of the maxi skirt, give its comfortable and easier-to-wear cousin the midi skirt a shot. Pair it with a cropped t-shirt like this one to create an easy, slightly imperfect look.

4. Shirt dress + tights = updated jeans and t-shirt

Shirt dresses like this should be everyone’s best friend. They feel just as classic and simple as their above-the-waist counterpart, but still keep you looking stylish.

5. Boyfriend blazer + white t-shirt + jeans = no-thought polish

Love the look of blazers, but can’t quite deal with the stuffiness during class? Go for a boyfriend blazer like this, which feels much less structured and much more casual than the traditional office staple.
