Haute’s BFW Recap

By Stephanie Zhang

After a fun-filled seven days, Boston Fashion Week came to a close yesterday. Here’s a recap of Haute Fashion’s involvement this year:

Members attended the Alexa Chung for Madewell event where Alexa herself came and talked with fans about the collection. She also made a creative flip book at the booth in store!

Last Saturday was the first day of Boston Fashion Week, and our president Bianca Gracie attended Emily Muller‘s Spring ’12 fashion show. The overall inspiration of the collection was derived from Native Americans and tribal wear. The muted colors of the pieces created a canvas that highlighted the beautiful headpieces and headscarves.

On Monday, Haute Fashion attended Victoria Dominguez Bagu’s show for her collection mariavictoria in The Tent. The collection was in a mostly yellow/neutral theme with varied prints and fabrics, and was full of work-appropriate clothes as well as evening gowns.

On Tuesday, a group of Haute members attended the Lily and Migs fashion show. The vibe of the collection was full of energy! The music playlist was very Rock & Roll while the clothes were flowy and flirty, which created an interesting juxtaposition. It was good to witness a sole designer bringing back fun and excitement into the Boston Tent! Lily and Migs‘s fashion show was definitely a Haute favorite.

Have an event that you feel our members would be interested in? Let us know and we could put it on our Other Local Events page!
