NYFW E-board Pick: Badgley Mischka

I will admit, I have a weakness for pretty things and Badgley Mischka’s ready-to-wear pieces for Spring 2012 are definitely pretty. The collection featured curled updos, dramatic silhouettes, a mix of fabrics, and an array of colors. The collection is beautifully feminine containing mostly dresses, both long and cocktail-length.

I especially love the detail in each outfit. Not only are the colors perfectly combined, but the the shapes of the clothes complement the different fabric and the embellishment in each. Classic silhouettes were mixed in with more dramatic silhouettes, and I especially love the flowing movement the pieces appear to have even in photos.

Most of the outfits had some sort of pop to them–whether it was of color, cloth, or structure–ranging from a retro-inspired pink sash to bright shoes to daring shiny fabric. Though the sheer amount of patterns, colors, and designs may be overwhelming or off-putting to some, Badgley Mischka’s collection is definitely my favorite of the NYFW Spring collections!
