Not only do designers awe you with their clothes, but they also wow you with their accessories! Jen Kao’s show at NYFW on September 11th featured creative patterns, hair, and headgear. Viewing Kao’s Spring 2012 RTW collection, one’s eye is instantly drawn to the strong geometric patterns accented by the warmer colors in the collection. Cooler colors accompany the smaller, more intricate patterns in the clothes.
The hair at Jen Kao was only moderately dramatic, but the headgear was a whole different story. Would you ever wear something like this? Some models were adorned with large floral headpieces while others sported more abstract designs. Though the headpieces are not wearable in everyday life, they make an already attention-grabbing dress simply pop on the runway.
However, the elaborate accessories were not just limited to the head. Models also had the white creations draped across their shoulders and bodies, as well as more normal accessories like the cross-body bag. Despite the multitude of colors, patterns, and accessories, Kao’s collection flowed together illustrating art and imagination.
